The Project

IKEA Home is an innovative project that delivers on the promise of creating a unique space where you can manage everything related to your home at all levels. Need a moving service? You can hire one here. Looking for a painter? You’ll find a professional. Want to sell second-hand furniture? You can list and manage your sales here.

Regarding the UI, we had a unique opportunity to evolve and expand IKEA’s design system, which originally served furniture sales, into a service-oriented platform. We built a new library of modules tailored for service bookings, embedding IKEA’s DNA through a Nordic, minimalist, and sophisticated art direction—something natural for IKEA but previously unexplored.

The interface evokes a sense of home through a clean, direct visual style without unnecessary interference. It draws from editorial design elements, such as high-contrast typographic scales and a generous vertical rhythm. The result is an interface that fulfills its dual purpose: positioning IKEA as a home service provider while presenting a refreshed and modern brand image.
